About Us
We are a research group of scientists, engineers and clinicians working closely together to address questions with regards to brain alterations in the events of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Concussion. According to Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) published rates, TBI-related Emergency Department (ED) Visits, Hospitalization, and Deaths have climbed incrementally from 521.0 per 100,000 in 2001, to 823.7 per 100,000 in 2010.
Through the years, NEIL has conducted studies on multi-modality imaging and analysis of neurotrauma, including but not limited to:
- Structural and Functional MRI
- Diffusion Weighted Imaging
- MRI triggered Electrophysiological recording
- Positron Emission Tomography (PET)
- Pharmacologically triggered fMRI
- Resting state fMRI connectome
- Molecular Imaging, immunohistochemistry and Behavioral testing
